About Tatormor

Updated 1 June 2026

Tatormor collects reference notes on photographing small objects and still-life subjects at home. The focus is on the lighting, backgrounds and composition that a home setup can realistically control.

Scope

The material is written for conditions common in Germany: apartments with limited space, daylight that varies strongly between seasons, and modest, widely available equipment. Examples favour improvised and inexpensive solutions over studio installations.

How the notes are written

Articles describe methods and trade-offs rather than fixed rules. Where exact figures depend on a specific camera, room or object, the text uses descriptive guidance instead of quoting numbers that would not hold across different setups.

Images

Photographs on this site are drawn from Wikimedia Commons and remain under their respective licenses. They are used to illustrate setups and are credited to their source.
